I'm revamping our Cinema Room and have a few questions for all you Dolby experts. I will be using the following equipment: 1- 35 mm 2- 16 mm 3- DCP (4xAES) 4- HDCam SR (4xAES) 5- Computer with AJA Kona IO XT (8 channel analog via TDIF) 6- Betacam Digital (1xAES) 7- BluRay (8 channel analog via RCA or Toslink) I plan to purchase a CP650 and a DMA8 The DMA8 will take the following machine: -HDcam SR via (4xAES) -Computer via (analog in) -digi Beta via (1xAES) -Bluray via (Toslink) Then from 'Analog out to CP' to Analog in of CP650 and -35 and 16 mm via CP650 -DCP via 4xAES (from Optional board slot on CP650) Any of you use a similar set up?? Will this work??
Any gotchas?? Quote: I use similar. Not expert, just a user. Our HDCamSR is direct into one of the channels on the CP650 -AES Card on HDCamSR via 3x BNC. Custom made cable. BNC to multipin. We only have 5.1 DCP into DMA8 Use HDCamSR instead of DigiBeta.
BluRay optical to DMA8 After checking out the manual, i believe you're better off using the 4xAES card on the CP650 for your DCP and the HDcamSR into the DMA8 instead. Communication between DMA8 and CP650 is done via multi channel analog and this connection is only 6 channel wide. Therefore with the above scenario you won't be able to do 7.1 with your DCP.
